Chairman, President, Chief Executive Officer, Jose I. Guerra, Inc. Consulting Engineers. During a career that has spanned more than 40 years, he has built a successful engineering firm considered among the best in Texas and has been elected to the top offices of professional organizations. His community involvement over many decades has included service on nearly every type of board and organization in Austin. Founding Principal of a medium sized multi-discipline consulting engineering firm, providing structural, civil, mechanical and electrical engineering services. Since the beginning, Jose I. Guerra established the high standards in engineering excellence that are responsible for the firm’s continuing growth and distinguished reputation.
Guerra has been the Principal-in-Charge in the management of more than 1500 projects, including airports, bridges, water and wastewater treatment plants, schools, stadiums and clean rooms for the semi-conductor industry, for clients such as the Texas Department of Transportation, U.S. Corps of Engineers, Motorola, Inc., Samsung, Sony, the State of Texas and many others.
Member of the American Society of Civil Engineers; Director of the National Society of Professional Engineers; Member, Legislative and Governmental Affairs Committee; President, 1992-93, Texas Society of Professional Engineers. Honorary Member: Federacion de Colegios de Ingenieros Civiles de la Republica Mexicana; Honorary Member: El Colegio de Ingenieros Civiles de Mexico, A.C.
